Description: Advanced level directed reading and performance of an anonymous musical-poetic text in the Italian language concerning the abandonment of Ariadne on Naxos as set to music for Urbino by Alessandro Scarlatti in 1707. Contextual reading and a paper to be given prior to a chamber concert featuring also 'Arianna a Naxos' by Josef Haydn.
