Description: Medieval cities provided as many opportunities for political, economic, social, and religious enterprises as their modern counterparts. Housing a variety of religious communities, these cultural centers differed profoundly across Europe and the Islamic world. This seminar will discuss these characteristics and explore them on a 10-day trip to Germany. Cross-list: HIST 449.
