Description: Properties of excitable nerve membranes and chemical synapses; theory of ions in solutions, ion conduction through membranes, ion transport, linear cable theory, nonlinear properties of neurons, + stochastic properties of single ion channels, synaptic transmission, the role of calcium and transmitter release, + postsynaptic mechanism.
