Description: Lecture and discussion course will examine Mexico from the late 19th century to the present through readings, film, and original research. Studies range from contested visions of the nation in the 19th century, the 1910 Revolution, to the 2000 presidential election, covering the paradoxes of economic development within endemic inequality.
