Description: This course teaches the fundamentals of fiction writing, and includes a mixture of reading and writing assignments. The goal is for each student to produce two short stories possessing imaginative ingenuity, structural integrity, and literary merit by the end of the semester. This course typically over-enrolls. Admission is therefore selective and based on a writing sample. Interested students are advised to attend the first class meeting for guidelines for the writing sample submission.
