Description: This course includes a broad survey of postcolonial theories starting with Edward Said. This course is based on Ewa M. Thompson's "Imperial Knowledge: Russian Literature and Colonialism". Readings include Leo Tolstoy, Alexander Pushkin, Valentine Rasputin, Anatoly Rybakov, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Ludmila Petrushevskaya, Tatiana Tolstaia and Valeiya Novodvorskaya. Cross-list: HUMA 331.
