Description: INTERMEDIATE SPANISH I ***** DISTRIBUTION COURSE GROUP 1 ***** Spanish 201 is a course designed for intermediate level Spanish speakers who have achieved the equivalent of first-year Spanish (i.e. Span 101-102). Based on a task-oriented approach to language and culture learning, Spanish 201 allows the intermediate students to improve and expand their communicative skills. Students are expected to be active participants in the learning process. Class meetings are not based on lectures, but rely heavily on student interaction. Students enrolled in SPAN 201 will have the opportunity to take SPAN 202 in May. See SPAN 202, section 5. ***** Enrollment limited to 20 per section. ***** Prerequisite(s): SPAN 102, placement test, or permission of instructor.
