Description: Read and discuss the major Latin American novels you have been meaning to read: pre-boom, boom, post-boom; novels by writers such as Juan Rulfo, Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa but also contemporary stars such as Samantha Schweblin, Roberto Bolaño, Horacio Castellanos Moya. Previously offered as SPPO 462 and SPAN 462. Mutually exclusive. Credit cannot be earned for SPAN 395 if student has previously taken SPPO 462 or SPAN 462. Recommended Prerequisite(s): Advanced Spanish or permission of instructor.
