Description: SUMMER 2016: HART IN THE WORLD: ISTANBUL, THE CITY AND ITS HISTORY. A first-hand exploration of Istanbul, former capital of the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman Empires and thriving cultural metropolis. The course will be conducted at different historical sites including the celebrated Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace and engage contemporary culture through exhibitions, performances and street life. This is a Special Topics course with locations changing annually. Priority given to HART majors. Funding possibilities provided. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for HART 397 if student has credit for HART 697.
