Description: Seminar on selected topics in the history of Germany. Topic for Spring 2012: State-Formation, Industrialization, and Power: Germany, 1860-1900. Looks at the remarkable transformation of the German lands from a set of scattered states to a unified nation-state, from backwardness to industrial power.
