Description: This course proposes to survey major moments and movements in European history from the medieval period through the twentieth century. The operatic reception of history will be explored in order to understand how European artists have viewed their own historical narrative, and so that together we might come to some conclusions concerning the dramaticity of history. This course is limited to first-year students only, any others will be removed from this course.
