Includes ancient and renaissance arts of memory, universal languages and the development of the calculus, secret writing and cryptography, the graphical method, the rise of the 'scriptural' mode of DNA, the development and use of programming languages, psychoanalysis. No technical knowledge is assumed. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: ANTH 375.
