Description: The political-economic perspective of international relations assumes that political and economic activities are intimately entwined. Three major schools of international political economy will be presented: Liberalism, Mercantilism, and Structuralism. It will be demonstated how each political-economic approach addresses issues of national security, trade, economic development, and the natural environment.
