Description: Provides an overview of the private equity process. Private equity is a rapidly growing segment of the capital markets that funds; mature and growing companies during the pre-public growth phase. Many companies are sold to strategic buyers as an alternative to going public. The private equity market also provides capital for LBOs and MBOs. We will examine three perspectives: (1) the organization and operation of private equity funds, (2) the due diligence investigation, negotiation of terms and valuation analysis necessary to make private equity investments and (3) exiting private equity investments.
