Description: Graduate seminar will examine liberal and radical thinkers of the 19th century as they attempt to make sense of the developmnent of industrial capitalism and demands for political participation. Readings include Sieyes, Robespieere, Babeuf, Wollstonecraft, Constant, Fourier, Guizot, Bakunin, Herzen, Mill, Katusky, Bebel, Weber, Lenin and Gramsci. Repeatable for Credit.
