BIOE 420 - BIOSYSTEMS TRANSPORT&REACTION

Long Title: BIOSYSTEMS TRANSPORT AND REACTION PROCESSES
Department: Bioengineering
Grade Mode: Standard Letter
Course Type: Lecture
Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite(s): MATH 211 AND MATH 212
Description: The principles of reaction kinetics and transport phenomena will be used to quantitatively describe biological systems. Cell biology, physiology, anatomy, and materials science topics will be covered as background for the study of cell membrane transport, receptor-ligand interactions, and normal organ function. Models will be introduced to describe pathological conditions, drug pharmaco-kinetics, and artificial organ designs. Cross-list: CHBE 420.
