Description: Lecture/discussion course considers the last century of American labor history through a close analysis of journalism, fiction, and film. Topics will include: industrialization, immigration, gender, industrial unionism, race relations, syndicalist, socialist and communist organizing, agrarian labor, and de-industrialization. Reading will be supplemented by required evening film showings.
