Description: Mapping German Culture. Providing a critical review of modern concepts of nationhood and nationalism in the light of recent research on cultural memory, this course traces the history of political foundation myths in Germany and Europe since the eighteenth century. The course provides links between literature, visual culture, historical anthropology, and public policy. Taught in English.
