Description: This course surveys and critiques various theories of second language acquisition. Major topics are: analysis of linguistic, cognitive and social processes in the development of second languages, formal hypothesis of non-academic and classroom L2 learning, analysis of various SLA research methodologies and interpretation of findings from SLA research.
