Description: DISTRIBUTIVE JUSTICE: A MICROECONOMIC APPROACH ***** The course examines efficiency, fairness, and incentive- compatability in problems involving trade and production. Topics include: equality, competative trade; the No Envy test; Stand Alone test; the Shapley value; theories of the social contract such as utilitarianism and egalitarianism; including impossibility results of Arrow and Gibbard- Satterthwaite. Not offered every year. ***** Prerequisite(s): ECON 211 and 370 or permission of the instructor.
