Course addresses theories of risk society and their relationship to concepts of culture, gender, security, and human rights-based social movements. It addresses contemporary reorganizations of domestic, cultural, geopolitical space and also examines the increasingly intense discussions surrounding 'cultures' of fear, risk, safety, civility, governance, biopolitics, and rights.
