Description: LATIN PASTORAL POETRY ***** Survey of Latin pastoral, with its idyllic country sides, singing shepherds, and lovely laments. Readings drawn from Virgil's Ecologues, Calpernius, Sirulus, Nemesians,Einsiedel, Eclogues and early Christian pastoral. Principal focus will be stylistic and thematic aspects of individual poems.
