Description: LANGUAGE AND CULTURE OF HISPANICS IN THE UNITED STATES ***** The aim of this course is to to achieve advanced level of proficiency. The course will explore issues of the cultural identity of Spanish speakers by studying Hispanic culture in the U.S. Based on the study of Hispanic culture in the U.S. from three different viewpoints: historical, literary, and sociolinguistics. ***** Prerequisite(s): SPAN 303, placement test, or permission of instructor. ***** Enrollment limited to 20.
