Description: FORTUNE-TELLERS AND PHILOSOPHERS: THE ROLE OF DIVINATION IN CHINESE HISTORY ***** Course will examine the way fortune-telling beliefs and practices -- use of "oracle bones", consultation of the "I-ching" (Book of Changes), physiognomy, spirit-writing, fengshui--have evolved over 3000 years in China.
